2024 Summer Day Camp registration will open on waterburyrec.com only (there will be no in-person registration). Registration will be limited to residents and the full 8-week slots for the first day, then will open to non-residents, then to single week slots.

March 6 at 9am - Residents registration for 8-week slots
March 8 at 9am - All registration for 8-week slots
Registration is not open March 11 (allows for staff updates for March 12 opening)
March 12 at 9am - All registration for all slots (8-week and single week)

CHILD'S GRADE FOR SUMMER IS GRADE AT TIME OF REGISTRATION (Spring '24 Grade) - NOT GRADE GOING INTO IN THE FALL.



Camp starts June 24th and runs until August 16th. 2024 summer camp will operate differently than past summers. We'll have themed camps to meet campers' interests, have performances come to camp (rather than all-camp field trips), and have mini field trips in our rec vans. We will still have regular pool time and in addition, all campers will have swim lessons which are integrated into the cost of camp.
 
Camps are organized by theme with the exception of our youngest camp, and meet at different locations (to be shared once confirmed):
Kindergarten Camp* - Our youngest campers will explore, create, and play lots of games outdoors, along with plenty of down time to make crafts, create tasty snacks, hear stories, and relax. 
Creative Kids Camp - An artistic camp for creative minds! From painting to drama games, nature crafts to friendship bracelets, we will perform, craft, sing, and paint. 
Young Innovators Camp - This camp is STEAM themed: we will experiment, investigate, and get our hands dirty while making incredible discoveries and tasty treats! 
Nature Exploration Camp - Lace up your hiking boots and get ready to explore the natural world! Expect lots of hiking, games, nature crafts, and plant and animal discoveries. 
Adventure Camp - Adventure Camp will offer time to explore our parks, play high energy games, follow treasure maps, and learn to work together as a team. 
Action & Energy Camp - In this sport-intensive camp we will test our skills in countless games and athletic endeavors, along with team building and mind bender challenges! 
Counselor In Training Program: (formerly Junior Counselors) After pre-registration, interested youth require a formal interview with Recreation Staff. Pre-registration does not guarantee acceptance into program.

TIMES: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Drop off 8-9am
Pick up 4-5pm
Other drop off and pick up times require 48 hour notice to Recreation Staff.

Waterbury Public Pool, Anderson Park, 27 Butler St. Waterbury, VT
And other locations, shared closer to start date
Camp regularly visits town parks and walks between locations. 


8-WEEK RESIDENT/NON-RESIDENT COST: $1,000/$1,250
1-WEEK RESIDENT/NON-RESIDENT COST: $250/$300
Counselor In Training Program (8-WEEK ONLY) RESIDENT/NON-RESIDENT COST: $500/$625
There are limited week-only slots available at $250 for residents and $300 for non-residents. You may not sign up the same child for week-only slots and the full 8-week block- doing so may result in the cancellation of all registrations.

Registration has historically sold out within hours of registration opening. To prepare, prior to March 6 log into your account to ensure you have no login issues and that your child's age and grade are listed correctly (grade should reflect their current status in school). Should you have a past due balance, this must be paid prior to Summer Camp 2024 registration. Past due balances can impact future registrations, please contact Recreation Department if you would like to set up a payment plan.

If you have trouble logging in, do not create a new account. Duplicate households sometimes prevent registration. Duplicate registrations (two separate logins to sign up the same child) are not allowed and may result in the cancellation of registration. For help with your login, please contact the Recreation Department prior to March 4. 

A non-refundable $25 fee OR full camp payment is due at the time of your registration to hold your spot. This first payment must be paid by credit card. Following your initial registration and if you've held your spot with the $25 fee, your full camp balance can be paid in increments by the following dates. Half (50%) of the invoice balance is due by April 26th at 4pm and the second half (50%) of the invoice balance is due by May 24th at 4pm. Failure to pay within the given deadlines will result in forfeiture of the spot, and the next child on the waiting list will fill the open spot.

If you choose, you can pay for camp after the online registration fee by cash or check due to "Waterbury Recreation" and mail or drop off the payment at 28 N Main Street, Suite 1, Waterbury VT 05676.

If camp is full by the time you register, contact Katarina Lisaius (klisaius@waterburyvt.com) to be put on the waiting list. As described above, should a family not make payments, contact the Department about a payment plan, or if they unenroll, the waitlist will be used to fill open spots.

Please Note: any COVID policies will be announced (if need be) once we are closer to summer and have more information on any potential regulations.

*Kindergarteners must have either completed kindergarten by the end of the 2023-2024 school year or be 6 years old by September 1, 2024 to be able to be served by Waterbury Recreation Summer Camp. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations with less than a week's notice are not refunded. Cancellations with 7 and 30 days notification receive 75% refund. Cancellations with more than 30 days notice receive a full refund.
