Registration for garden plots begins May 1 at 9am.
Garden Map
The Town of Waterbury is proud to offer the community gardening spots for the growth of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. We offer garden plots (20X40feet and 40X40feet) in two locations: The North Gardens located behind the town library

The South Gardens located off of Winooski Street near Hope Cemetery.

Garden plots require an application and a small fee in order to be assigned a plot.

Gardeners are expected to follow the rules and procedures outlined in the handbook. If they do not follow the rules, gardeners could be asked to vacate their plot and may not be welcomed back in future years.

Registration for plots begins May 1 at 9am with a deadline of May 9. Gardeners will be receive confirmation of plots by May 13.
Plots that are still available will be open after May13, but will be processed one at at a time.

The town tills the land in preparation for gardening. Tilling usually takes place in late May or early June.

The registration, application form, and payment are all included in the registration process. Choose Single or Double plots listed below and complete the registration steps. Following registration, gardeners will be contacted with their confirmed plot location/s.

New for Summer 2024 - Waterbury Recreation is partnering with the Waterbury Library and the University of Vermont to create a Children's Garden. The garden will be a free spot for children to learn about gardening, composting, and more. Please stay tuned for learning opportunities with Waterbury Recreation and the Library.
