  • Mondays are Short Story & Art days! Each Monday, kids will work on a short story of their choosing throughout the semester, and/or partake in our planned art project. At the end of the year, we will compile each short story and have a book printed for the kids to take home! Some of the art projects we have planned are clay, hot cocoa & paint, scratch art, and fuse bead presses!

  • Tuesdays are Cooking and Game Days! Each Tuesday we will have a cooking project that each kid can safely contribute to making, and then will enjoy for snack! Afterward we will have a game setup for the kids play, usually a tournament style with levels for everyone to have fun at! Some of the cooking projects we have lined up for this month are no-bake cookies, rice krispy balls, rec rail mix, and smores pops! Some game activities we also have lined up this month are chess tournaments, paper airplane contest, human ice bowling, and board game bonanza!

  • Wednesdays are Science & Sports day! Each Wednesday we have some science/STEM projects lined up like flour stress balls, making our own playdough, making our own slime, and a volcano! Pair up will be sports that seasonally line up with our weather outside. Some examples of what we have on the docket this month are ping-pong, dodge ball in the snow, hockey/free skate, and broom ball on the ice!

  • Thursdays are our rec outing field trip days! We have planned to visit the Waterbury Town Library, Waterbury Ambulance station, Stowe parks & rec playground, and Cold Hollow Cider, just to name a few trips! We will also be getting a special visit from our state trooper, Ryan & the fire department to show off their vehicles and to talk about public safety in our town!

  • Fridays are Movie & Outdoor days! We will end the week of school with a fun kid-friendly movie/documentary and then head outside for a seasonal activity. During the winter months, our outdoor activity will be skating & snow fort building with our new rec snow toys!
