Sciensational Workshops for Kids offers hands-on education and fun through our 22 different science enrichment programs!

Chemical Magic - Magical Microscopes - Rocks and Minerals

Learn to make batteries from fruits or potatoes. Make a fantastic crystal tree.  Work with invisible ink.  See the happy and sad balls. Work with our powerful magnets.  Look at our prepared slides using our microscopes.  Learn about the different types of rocks and minerals from our interesting rock and mineral collection.  Be a chemical detective.  Make glob from glue. Use paper chromatography to separate colors. Make dirty pennies turn clean and clean pennies turn green.  Everything will be explained to you so you can go home having learned some interesting science.  Hands-on science is the best way to learn.  Do it the Sciensational way!  Ages 6 - 11

Mission to Mars! 

Build and take home your own 7 in 1 Mars Mini Lander.  Build a Space Rover, Space Explorer, Space Shuttle, Space Dog, Astronaut, Space Station, and Space Mechanic.  Each powered by either solar energy or batteries. On our way to Mars on Mars and back from Mars, you will experiment in many different ways and more.  All STEAMbased activites the sciensational way!!  You will learn about solar energy.  You will be seeing a 3D Mars surface using 3D glasses as well as making your own 3D drawing.  Make a color changing UV bracelet and take it home!!  Sample our delicious astronaut ice cream!!  Learn about constellations.  Build and take home your own mini paper rocket and launch it indoors or outdoors.  On the last day, you will return to earth after being on Mars all week.  You will have learned so many interesting things!! Ages 8-12



The Incredible Wall-Hugging Mouse Robot!



Wow!  Join Sciensational Workshops and build your own wall hugging mouse robot which you can take home!!  When the bump sensor makes contact with the wall, a switch motor directs power to the left motor.  This simple behavior allows this incredible mouse to follow any vertical surface on the left.  You will see all of this amazing action after building your own!  Your mouse can be decorated with eyes, ears, and whisker stickers- or create and draw your own!  Learning through the inquiry method and STEAM based principles, you will also build other robots working in smaller groups.  Build a sumo wrestler, have tug of war events, and make the robots perfrom creative things for your group.  Robots in this portion of the workshop are not taken home.  Ages 7-12
