Waterbury Winterfest is a 10-day festival featuring indoor and outdoor venues, traditional and not-so-traditional events! Below are events happening at our municipal parks and facilities! Visit waterburywinterfest.com for the full line-up of events happening around town!

Broomball
Winterfest is excited to host the annual Family Broomball Tournament! Gather your team for this family-friendly game for people of all ages and abilities. Played on the ice, broomball is a lot like hockey, but no skates required! Wear your own winter boots or shoes, and helmets are recommended but not required. We’ll provide the goals, sticks and balls. Teams need to be a mix of adults and children with a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 11. On-ice games include 5 team players plus a goalie and your team must have 1 male, 1 female, and one child in the game at all times. Registration fees are $10/adult, $5/child, or $70 per team. All players must have a signed waiver to participate. We’ll have a team captain’s meeting at 9am and games begin at 10am.
Pre registration is not required but preferred.

Capture the Flag
Come join this all-ages, snowy version of a childhood favorite! No teams or tackles required, and we’ll create multi-age groupings that allow young and young-at-heart to participate. Come just for this event or participate in between games of broomball. Free.

Ice Jug Curling
Bowling meets marbles…on ICE! This all ages, home-grown Curling event involves boot sliding, precision aiming of a frozen milk jug, and lots of fun. Free.

Fat Bike Demo & Group Ride
Have you ever wanted to try out a fat tire bike in the winter? Are you already an avid fat tire biker? Waterbury Sports and Bike Express will be on hand at Rusty Parker Memorial Park with demo bikes and equipment. There will be a demo loop, guided rides, and more! Our friends from the Alchemist will be pouring some favorite beers from 4-6pm following the group rides. Free.
